Vita Uke, Roy Smeck, soprano ukulele - - Opportunity for sale in Bellingham, WA
For sale! . This is among the nicest ukuleles that I'm providing this week. The Roy Smeck VITA UKE made by the Harmony Co. Chicago, is among the very best sounding ukes I've ever played. That need to be why they are so sought after. This must be a very early manufacturing design, because the interior burn label likewise has " Patent Pending" ink-stamped above it. Maybe 1930s? This little uke has had some repair works, the most obvious are the repaired cracks on the sound board, particularly those which run from the bottom points of the " seals" sound holes down the spruce sound board. Nearly every Vita Uke I've ever seen has these shrinking fractures. an apparent bad (however attractive) design feature. The interior center back brace has been reglued after it was discovered loose. The repair individual had a difficult time making it through those sound holes to glue the brace, and the outcome is some additional glue along with the brace. This is no doubt one of Harmony's best ukuleles. The uncommon shape with the uncommon noise holes, and the beautiful dark mahogany body and neck is accented by the spruce soundboard and the black/white/black binding, and topped by a Brazilian rosewood fret board. Wow! The noises are terrific. These ukes are challenging to find. Here's you chance! Still available at ListedBuy!
