It is our purpose to foster the growth and development of the whole child - spiritual, cognitive, physical, emotional and social in an atmosphere of God's great love.
We will provide a variety of experiences for children that will arouse their curiosity to learn more about themselves, others, the world around them and the God of heaven and earth who loves them.
Position Overview We are hiring a Teacher for our School Age program (K - 5th grade).
The shift is full time and seasonal, with the potential to stay on the team into the school year depending on staffing needs.
The primary role of the Teacher is to implement quality care, in accordance with Hillcrest Kids philosophy, in a safe, clean and loving environment for elementary school aged children.
The Teacher is directly responsible to the Program Manager and Site Director.
Lead Teachers at Hillcrest Kids are passionate about helping children know their full potential, working as a team and striving for unity and sharing the love of Jesus with kids and families.
Key Responsibilities Provide constant visual and auditory supervision of school age children.
Maintain State education requirements in MERIT.
Create a pleasant, inviting classroom atmosphere in which children feel safe and secure.
Ensure that routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with good child development principles.
Create a welcoming environment that promotes positive communication with parents and families.
Be aware of allergy and medical needs of the children in your group.
Be up to par on standards set forth by State licensing, specifically for the school age program.
We believe a proper concept of God is vital in everyone's development.
Therefore, as a staff member of Hillcrest Kids, you will be expected to celebrate Christmas and Easter through a variety of activities with your children, teaching them the foundational Christian truths surrounding these holidays.
All summer teachers must have a valid drivers license and be 21 years or older.
During the summer, we travel to local areas in Whatcom county for fieildtrips.
Teachers and support staff will be responsible to drive and chaperone all trips.
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Minimum of 1 year of professional education experience.
Be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent Degree in education a bonus but not required A strong understanding of elementary age development.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
(can be acquired once hired) HIV/AIDS and bloodborne pathogen certification.
(can be acquired once hired) Proof of MMR vaccine and negative TB test result.
(can be acquired once hired) Food Handlers Card.
(can be acquired once hired) Valid Drivers License and comfortable driving a 12 passenger van.
Must clear full background check which may include fingerprints.
Physical Requirements Must be able to lift approx.
