28 an hour The Center Associate is responsible to deliver patient, consistent and thorough customer service to all retail customers.
He/She/They receives and processes packages for courier shipments, processes them in our system, produces labels and packages their items with care and detail to ship out.
The team is required to operates copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices.
All Center Associates are required to advise our valued customers with accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options that we offer here at The UPS Store.
The Associate exhibits confidence by knowing best practices as related to the industry.
The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
Work in a fast paced environment, with a busy work flow.
Deliver outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries.
Continuously practice good listening skills with customers and leadership.
Take ownership of the customer's shipping problem and offer viable solutions.
Asking questions to other team members is always welcome.
Take action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends.
Operate all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and be willing to teach others.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment by making sure all packages and items are clear from the floor and the countertops.
The ideal Center Associate candidate will have previous retail sales experience, have strong computer and internet skills.
Physical requirements include the ability to stand for several hours at a time and ability to lift roughly 50lbs.
This prime candidate is expected to have a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor and be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.
This position requires an outgoing personality, exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work together as a team player for peak performance in a retail-service environment.
Other skills required are strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, good computer skills with knowledge of Internet applications (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer) and experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is highly recommended.
A graphic design background is definitely a plus! Average hours per week vary.
Hours available average from about 16 hours to about 32 hours a week, going up to 40 hrs with the availability of overtime.

Sunday 12pm-4pm, Monday-Friday 830am-7pm and Saturdays 10am-5pm.
Successful candidates are required to be to available to work afternoon/evenings and weekends on these days.
