To ensure safety and security of patrons, staff, performers, crew, and the building during events or other activities upon request.
Responsibilities:
Perform in position under direction of House Manager and responds to the supervision of the Security Lead Perform ID, bag check, parking monitoring, and related services at building entrance.
Provide escorting and security detail directly to talent as required Effectively handle difficult or intoxicated individuals Respond professionally and quickly to security concerns Inform and enforce the public of theatre policies Communicate effectively with Security Lead and team Awareness of MBT safety and emergency procedures, and understand staff roles in emergency situations Complete necessary reports for all shifts, including incident reports Report needed supplies and materials to House Manager Occasionally act as Runner for tour.
Duties to include transporting tour between hotel and theatre, dinner pick-up, errands, etc.
Keep special permits (CPR, First aid, etc.
) current with copy provided to MBT Other security related duties as specified by the House Manager
Qualifications:
Ability to keep calm and proactive under pressure or during confrontation Ability to function independently and with a team Work under inclement conditions in a creative but sometimes demanding atmosphere PREFERRED:
Security experience in a professional performance and event venue MAST or other form of ID and liquor law certification Radio communication knowledge Knowledge of de-escalation practices Basic safety (CPR, Evacuation, Active Shooter), though training is provided on occasion WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a variably scheduled, part-time position, 0 - 15 hours a week, with additional hours possible during periods of heavy demand.
House Manager will schedule shifts as needed.
With many events scheduled on weekend nights, time off may be approved in advance around the Theatre schedule.
Attendance at training and meetings at the theatre or offsite will be occasionally scheduled.
