The Behavior and Mental Health Support Specialist will play a critical role in helping Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County achieve its vision to integrate access to mental and behavioral health supports within the Club community and provide high quality out of school time opportunities and programs for youth.
The Behavior and Mental Health Support Specialist will be responsible for embedding a trauma informed and responsive approach to youth development throughout Clubs.
The Mental Health Support Specialist will utilize a variety of strategies including direct support of youth and families, program and staff development, increasing access to mental health services, managing mental health partnerships and interns, and collaborating with teammates to develop innovative approaches unique to Club environments.

50/hr MINIMUM QUALIFICIATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related discipline.
Experience working with at-risk youth preferred Specialty and/or knowledge in Trauma Informed Care and Motivational Interviewing.
Understanding of basic youth development principles and developmental characteristics.
Clear all required background and security screenings successfully.
Some evening availability will be required, and work hours are flexible to accommodate program implementation.
Reliable transportation required.
Valid driver's license and car insurance by date of hire.
Clear and approved motor vehicle report.
The ability to provide in-person services and meet the employment requirements outlined by the Department of Health for staff working in a youth development setting.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
